TAIA Connects Asia-Pacific AI Manufacturing Partners and Showcases Taiwan’s Industrial Solutions

The Taiwan Artificial Intelligence Association (TAIA) strengthened regional industry engagement through its participation in the AI Manufacturing Asia-Pacific Collaboration Roundtable Meeting(“亞太區AI製造合作圓桌會議”) on 20 October 2026 and its role as co-organizer of the AI Smart Manufacturing Showcase on 21 October. The programme connected discussions on manufacturing AI readiness with practical solutions and international business exchange.

Connyn Kang-Lin Chang, Vice Chairman and CSO represented TAIA at the roundtable, held at the Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel. Representatives from Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and Vietnam exchanged perspectives on AI adoption and opportunities for cooperation among industry associations and enterprises.

Roundtable discussions examined manufacturers’ current adoption experiences, transformation challenges, and practical approaches to accelerating implementation. Topics included production data readiness, integration with existing equipment and systems, workforce capabilities, and investment evaluation. Particular attention was given to making AI accessible to small and medium-sized manufacturers through clearly defined use cases and phased deployment.

The agenda centered on two priorities: AI Maturity Assessment for Manufacturing and the ASEAN AIoT Collaboration Initiative. A keynote on manufacturing industry AI maturity introduced Taiwan’s experience and practical diagnostic tools, providing a reference for assessing readiness and matching operational needs with suitable AI applications.

Taiwan’s perspectives emphasized the connection between process knowledge, equipment integration, and applied AI. High-mix, low-volume production provides an important context for developing solutions that can adapt to changing products and operating conditions. Evaluating deployment requirements and operational outcomes helps connect technical capability with production priorities.

The regional collaboration agenda explored knowledge exchange, business matchmaking, joint activities, and pilot projects. Discussions considered how associations can connect manufacturers with technology providers and local partners, while enterprises contribute implementation environments and industry requirements. These exchanges highlighted the practical foundations needed for cooperation across markets.

On 21 October, TAIA co-organized the AI Smart Manufacturing Showcase(“臺灣AI與智慧製造國際交流暨展示會”) at the GIS Taipei Tech Convention Center at National Taipei University of Technology. TAIA corporate members Harbor Technology Solutions and Foresight Technology represented the association, connecting Taiwan’s enterprise capabilities with visiting international industry organizations.

Harbor Technology(皓博科技)’s Solutions integrates proprietary sensors, acoustic signal processing, and Edge AI in its AI Diagnostic and Prognostic Solution (AIDPS), supporting equipment health monitoring, early fault detection, and predictive maintenance to help reduce unplanned downtime.

Foresight Technology(先知科技) combines AI and system integration through its Foresight NexusAI platform, connecting production data collection and integration with visual inspection, quality prediction, and decision support to improve manufacturing visibility and operational management.

Centered on practical application cases, the showcase used English-language presentations to introduce Taiwanese solutions and overseas cooperation opportunities to international AI, IoT, and industry association representatives. Its format supported direct discussion of manufacturing requirements and potential partnerships.

The wider programme also included a guided visit to the 2026 Taitronics & AIoT Expo at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1. Together, the roundtable, showcase, and exhibition programme connected regional dialogue with Taiwan’s technology ecosystem, reinforcing TAIA’s role in international industry exchange and promoting cooperation grounded in practical manufacturing applications.
